Purchased a tutorial video today by this master engraver, Sam Alfano. He has several videos offered on his website, I started with the one which interests me the most, “Successful Jewelry Engraving”.

I’m at least 80% through the video. It mostly teaches how to engrave scripts and borders. I will practice the techniques tomorrow.

I had no inspiration today and I didn’t want to just wing it, so there is no engraving done today. While walking back with my dinner this evening, I wondered since when did I stop the good practice of sketching for inspiration? Used to sit there and sketch for the fun of it, hardly do it nowadays. Hmmm.
